What’s the difference between 18ct and 9ct gold?

18ct gold has a richer colour and sits at the premium end; 9ct gold is harder-wearing and easier on the budget. Both come in white, yellow and rose — there’s no wrong choice, it comes down to her style and what you’d like to spend.

What is white gold, and will it stay white?

White gold is gold mixed with white metals and finished with a bright rhodium plating. After years of wear that plating can soften — a quick re-plate (we do it in store) brings the brilliant white right back.

Lab-grown or natural diamond — what’s the difference?

They’re optically and chemically the same stone. A lab-grown diamond is created in a controlled environment rather than mined, looks identical to the eye, and costs less — so your budget goes further.

What do the “four Cs” actually mean?

Cut (how brilliantly it sparkles), colour (how white it is), clarity (how few natural marks it has) and carat (its size). Cut has the biggest effect on sparkle, so it’s the one we’d prioritise.

How do I find out her ring size without spoiling the surprise?

Borrow a ring she already wears on that hand, or quietly ask a close friend. If you’re not certain, don’t stress — we can resize the finished ring, usually within a day.

How long does it take to make?

Most custom rings are made in around two weeks. Proposal-ready rings in store can often be sized the same day.
